Kailey (main character)

Emma (Kailey’s mom)

Lila (Kailey’s friend) 

Emily (Kailey’s older sister)

Kailey: Can we please please please pretty please with sprinkles and chocolate syrup on top, go to the beach?

Emma: Why do you want to go to the beach all of a sudden?

Kailey:Cause it’s summer break, duh!

Emma: Come on, it’s one day after the end of school!

Kailey: [sigh] fine. But we’re doing it this summer break!

Emma:ok,ok, fine.

[a month later]

Kailey: Mom!

Emma:Let me guess, you want me to take you to the beach?

Kailey: Yes! Can we go?

Emma: Fine, tomorrow.

Kailey: Awww, please pretty please with rainbow sprinkles and chocolate syrup on top can we go to the-

Emma: If you wait, your friend Lila can come!

Kailey: Yay! Fine, I’ll wait.

[The next day]

Kailey: Mom!

Emma: Ok, ok, get ready and we’re going to the beach!

Kailey: Yay! What about Lila?

Emma: She’s coming with us!

Kailey: Yay!

[Lila’s mom drops of Lila at Kailey’s house]

Lila: Kailey!

Kailey: Lila!

[ Emily comes to the living room with Kailey, Lila, and Emma]

Emily: Hey guys!

Lila and Kailey: Hi!

Emma: Ok, let’s go!

[They go in the car with all the things they need]

Lila and Kailey: Are we there yet? 

Emma: We haven’t started yet.

Kailey: Aww! Now let’s go now, what are we waiting for?

[5 minutes later]

Kailey and Lila: We’re here!

Emma: No we are not.

[They arrive]

Lila: Let’s get out!

[They get out]

Kailey: Wow! This is nice!

Lila: Yeah!

Emily: isn’t it cool?

Emma: I’ll be over here. Call if you need me.

Lila and Kailey:ok!

Emily: Now, let’s get to it!

[They go and build a sand castle]

Lila: This is fun!

Kailey: Yeah! It is!

[A few minutes later]

Lila: Hay, Kailey! Look what I found!

Kailey: What?

Lila: A crab! Isn’t it cute?

Kailey: Awww! Hey! Look in the water! 

Lila: Little fishies!

Kailey: Cute!

Lila: And look! Seashells!

Emily: I think those are conch shells!

Kailey: I love those!

Lila: Me too!

[A few hours later]

Emma: Okay ladies, we’re going home!

Kailey: Awww!

Lila: No fair!

Emma: You ARE going home now!

Lila and Kailey: Fine.

[Kailey goes home and Lila goes to her house]

Kailey: That was fun!

Emma: Hey, Lila’s calling on the phone!

Kailey: Yay!

[On the phone] Kailey: Hey Lila!

Lila: Hey!

Kailey: It was fun, right!

Lila: Yeah!

Kailey: When we go back to school, I’ll talk all about it!

Lila: Yeah!

[They hang up the phone]

Kailey: That was fun!

[Back at school]

Kailey: I’m going to write all about my trip!

Lila: Same!

[They write and have a fun time]
